The strip · Main page

The whole strip, at a glance.

This is KHANTA's main page: your six modules side by side, a master preset bar on top, and Input and Output at the bottom. Below, we take it apart one module at a time.

Six modules, one screen: Control, Character, Atmosphere, Texture, Motion, and Thono are all in view at once, each with its own power switch, preset menu, and Gain knob.
Master presets: Step through whole-chain presets from the bar at the top, and mark the ones you reach for most as favorites.
Tempo and themes: BPM and Tap set the tempo Delay's Rate lines up to. Themes changes the look only — it never touches your sound or presets.
Input and Output: Trim your level before anything is processed, and again after the whole chain, with a Mute button on the output.

Control · Compressor

Dynamics tuned for a voice, not a mastering chain.

Noise gate, compressor, and de-esser in one column — the three things every live vocal needs, built for a voice mic in the room.

Two gate modes: Classic Gate quiets your mic between phrases. AI Denoise Gate uses a neural noise-reduction model to suppress steady background noise even while you're talking (48 kHz projects).
Seven compressor modes: A three-detector fusion engine reacts to transients and sustained notes differently, and every mode has its own character — including Silk, built for intimate close-mic vocals.
De-esser with Listen: Choose the frequency, then hit L to hear only the band being targeted. Tame harsh S and T sounds without dulling the rest of your voice.
Always-on Safety Limiter: A true brick-wall ceiling at the very end of the chain catches loud material before it distorts.

What every control does

Module Preset: Pick a starting recipe for this module — Polish, Warm, Bright, and more.
Bypass Toggle: Turns the whole Control module on or off.
Post Gain: Trims the module's own output level after everything else in the chain.
Gate Slider: Quiets your mic down between phrases, so background noise doesn't bleed through. Drag to the bottom to turn it off.
Gate / AI Switch: Top: classic threshold gate. Bottom: AI Denoise, neural noise reduction that can suppress steady background noise even while you're talking (needs a 48 kHz sample rate).
Compressor Knob: Evens out your level — quieter parts come up, louder parts come down.
Color: How strongly the Compressor's own curve character is applied.
De-esser Knob: Tames harsh S and T sounds without dulling the rest of your voice.
Frequency: Which frequency the De-esser is actually listening for and targeting.
L Toggle: Listen mode — hear ONLY the frequency band being targeted, in isolation.

Character · EQ

Shape your tone with four sliders.

A vocal-shaped EQ with a live curve, so you can see exactly what you're doing to your voice while you do it.

Air+ band: Adds a compressed, isolated high-frequency layer for presence and shimmer, in two flavors: Modern or Vintage.
Studio Mode: An optional linear-phase EQ for when you want it pristine and the extra latency is worth it to you.
Low Cut / High Cut: Trim rumble below and hiss above your chosen range with a single slider.
Eight tonal starting points: Natural Balance, Transparent, Clarity, Focus, Contour, Heritage, Crestline, and Amber Glow — one click, then tweak.

What every control does

Module Preset: Pick a starting tonal recipe — Natural Balance, Warm, Bright, and more.
Bypass Toggle: Turns the whole Character module on or off.
Gain Knob: Trims the module's own output level after everything else in the chain.
Low: Boosts or cuts the low end of your voice.
Mid: Boosts or cuts the midrange — where most of your voice's body lives.
High: Boosts or cuts the top end — clarity and presence.
Air+: Adds a compressed, isolated high-frequency layer for extra sparkle.
Air+ Character: Modern: airier, isolates 12 kHz and up with lighter compression. Vintage: crisper, isolates 8 kHz and up with heavier compression.
Low Cut / High Cut: Trims off frequencies below and above your chosen range entirely.

Atmosphere · Space

Space that stays out of the way of your words.

Reverb and delay with ducking, so your space doesn't wash out your words the moment you talk over it.

Independent ducking: Reverb and delay each pull themselves down on their own while you're singing, then bloom back in the gaps.
True ping-pong: Delay's Stereo toggle does genuine hard left/right ping-pong, with Rate set in musical note divisions.
Fourteen spaces: From Close Quarters to Cathedral — pick a room, then dial Decay to taste.
Meters that tell the story: Watch what goes in, how much ducking is pulling it down, and what comes out, for reverb and delay separately.

What every control does

Module Preset: Pick a starting space — Close Quarters, Big Hall, and more.
Bypass Toggle: Turns the whole Atmosphere module on or off.
Gain Knob: Trims the module's own output level after everything else in the chain.
Reverb On/Off: Turns Reverb on or off independently of Delay.
Reverb Knob: How much reverb is blended in.
Decay: How long the reverb's own tail takes to fade out.
Reverb Ducking: Automatically pulls the reverb down while you're actively singing.
Delay On/Off: Turns Delay on or off independently of Reverb.
Delay Knob: How much delay is blended in.
Rate: How far apart each delay repeat lands, in musical note divisions.
Stereo: Widens the delay repeats across the stereo field.
Low Cut / High Cut: Trims off frequencies below and above your chosen range entirely.

Texture · FX

Pick a character. Then shape it.

Character effects — telephone, tape, stage width, and more — with an Intensity knob and an Output knob, routed before or after Atmosphere, your call.

Six flavors: Amber Drive, Telephone, Stage Width, Analog Tape, Grit Amp, and Warm Body — pick one from the preset row and both knobs work on that character.
Pre or Post Atmosphere: Run Texture before Reverb/Delay and its character gets swept up in the space, or after it to stay crisp and separate.
Intensity and Output: Intensity sets how strong the chosen character is — drive, resonance, or width depending on the flavor. Output sets how much of the processed sound blends with your original vocal. Both start at zero, which is a full bypass.
A true bypass: An untouched module stays out of your signal, and every module has its own power switch.

What every control does

Module Preset: Pick the character both knobs shape — Amber Drive, Telephone, Stage Width, Analog Tape, Grit Amp, or Warm Body.
Bypass Toggle: Turns the whole Texture module on or off.
Gain Knob: Trims the module's own output level after everything else in the chain.
Intensity: How strong the chosen character is — drive, resonance, or width depending on the preset. 0 is off.
Output: How much of the processed sound blends with your original vocal. 0 is a full bypass.
Pre Atmosphere: Texture runs BEFORE Reverb/Delay — its character gets swept up in the space too.
Post Atmosphere: Texture runs AFTER Reverb/Delay — stays crisp and separate from the space.

Motion · FX

Movement, on demand.

Twin Voice, Wild Motion, Shimmer, and Sweep — shaped by an Intensity knob and an Output knob, always in the same spot in the chain.

Four effects: Pick Twin Voice, Wild Motion, Shimmer, or Sweep from the preset row, then use the two knobs to decide how deep it is and how much of it you hear.
Blend or Bus Mix: Blend (the default) makes Output a crossfade with the dry vocal. Bus Mix leaves your dry vocal untouched and layers the effect on top, like a parallel effects send.
Intensity and Output: Intensity sets how deep the effect is — detune or modulation depth, depending on the preset. Output sets how much of it you hear. Both stay at zero until you reach for them.
Remembered by your presets: Your own saved presets keep whatever Motion settings you dialed in.

What every control does

Module Preset: Pick the effect both knobs shape — Twin Voice, Wild Motion, Shimmer, or Sweep.
Bypass Toggle: Turns the whole Motion module on or off.
Gain Knob: Trims the module's own output level after everything else in the chain.
Intensity: How deep the effect is — detune or modulation depth depending on the preset. 0 is off.
Output: How much of the effect you hear. With Blend it crossfades against your dry vocal; with Bus Mix it layers on top.
Blend: Output crossfades between the dry vocal and the effect — raising it lowers the dry vocal.
Bus Mix: Your dry vocal stays untouched and Output layers the effect on top, like a parallel effects send.

Thono · Pitch Correction

Real-time pitch correction, built for live.

From a natural touch-up to the classic hard-tuned effect — set your Key and Scale, then decide how hard Thono pulls.

Key & Scale: Chromatic corrects every note. Major or Natural Minor only correct notes inside that scale.
Retune Speed: Slow is natural. Fast is the classic hard-tuned sound. You choose where in between.
Correction Amount: 0% leaves your pitch alone, 100% pulls fully to the target note.
Low latency, low CPU: A purpose-built pitch engine adds only a few milliseconds of delay and uses roughly 10x less CPU, so it runs smoothly on lower-end machines.

What every control does

Bypass Toggle: Turns the whole Thono module on or off.
Key: Sets the key Thono corrects toward.
Scale: Sets the scale Thono corrects toward — Chromatic corrects every note; Major or Natural Minor only correct notes within that scale.
Retune Speed: How quickly detected pitch snaps to the target note — slow is natural, fast is the classic hard-tuned effect.
Correction Amount: How much of the detected pitch error gets corrected — 0% is off/natural, 100% is full correction to the target note.

Stage · Perform

Built for the moment you go live.

Stage is where you perform: soundboard pads, macro buttons, one-tap voice effects, Atmosphere, and Thono pitch correction, all in one view.

Soundboard: Twelve pads that mix drops and cues straight into your output.
Macros: Twelve buttons that switch whole sets of controls at once.
Voice effects: One-tap effects, a voice changer, and Motion.
Space and pitch: Atmosphere and Thono, without leaving Stage.

Everything on Stage

Twelve macro buttons

A macro is one button that stands in for a whole set of controls. Link knobs, sliders and toggles to it, then switch them all with a click, a hotkey, or a MIDI note.

Capture a look: Right-click a control, choose Add to Macro, and its current value becomes the macro's ON value. Turn the macro off and everything returns to where it was.
Toggle or Hold: Hold keeps a macro on only while you hold the mouse, hotkey or MIDI note.
Rename and learn: Right-click a button to rename it and assign MIDI or a hotkey. Unnamed buttons stay as Macro 9, Macro 10, and so on.

Soundboard

Twelve pads for drops, stingers and cues, mixed straight into your output after the vocal chain so they never get processed. Drop a file on a pad or click an empty one to load it, and the pad takes the file's name. Leave the rest empty until you need them.

Retrigger your way: Overlap layers up to 8 voices per pad, Queue plays them back to back, and Play/Pause resumes from the exact spot.
Progress at a glance: A playback bar runs along each pad's bottom edge while its clip plays.
Hotkeys and MIDI: Every pad can be triggered by a learned hotkey or MIDI note.

Voice effects and voice changer

One-tap effects for the moment: Megaphone, Telephone, Super Reverb, and Spooky, each with its own amount slider. Next to them, Male to Female and Female to Male change the character of your voice, and Motion adds movement with its own preset menu, Intensity, and Dry/Wet.

Fine-tune the change: The Male to Female and Female to Male sliders sit at the centre by default and move the formants either way.
Motion on Stage: Twin Voice, Wild Motion, Shimmer, and Sweep are right here, without leaving Stage.

The full Atmosphere card

The same Atmosphere module from the main strip, right on Stage: fourteen spaces, reverb and delay with independent ducking, and IN, DUCK and OUT meters so you can see what each is doing to your voice.

Thono pitch correction

Set the Key and Scale, then decide how hard Thono pulls with Retune Speed and Correction. It is the same engine as on the main strip, with its own on/off switch.

Instrument · Second input

Your guitar or keys, right next to your voice.

A second, Standalone-only input with its own page: an amp-sim preamp, a category EQ with presets, and a rebuilt reverb engine.

Nine reverb algorithms: Room, Hall, Plate, Spring, Shimmer, Cloud, Bloom, Swell, and Lofi, with Decay, Mix, and three Param knobs whose job changes per algorithm.
Real amp-sim preamp: Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Level, in place of a single pre-gain knob.
Everything in view: Reverb, EQ, Preamp, and your twelve macros all sit on one page — nothing is tucked behind a click. EQ and Preamp each have their own power switch.
Category EQ with presets: Pick an instrument category, shape six bands plus output volume, and save your own EQ presets.

The same twelve macros

The macro buttons from Stage follow you here, so a single press can switch a whole set of controls while you play. Right-click a button to rename it, set Toggle or Hold, and MIDI or hotkey-learn it.

Your own names: Call them Radio Voice, Big Hall, Verse Mode, or anything else. Names you don't set stay as Macro 9, Macro 10, and so on.
Link any control: Right-click any knob, slider or toggle, choose Add to Macro, and its current value becomes that macro's ON value.

Rebuilt reverb engine

A whole-channel On switch and Volume sit beside the reverb, so you can mute or trim the Instrument input in one move. Pick one of nine algorithms, then set Decay and Mix.

Nine algorithms: Room, Hall, Plate, Spring, Shimmer, Cloud, Bloom, Swell, and Lofi.
Three Param knobs: Their job changes with the algorithm you pick, so each space gets controls that make sense for it.

Instrument EQ

Choose an instrument category, shape six bands from Sub Bass to High, set the output volume, and save your own EQ presets. It has its own bypass toggle, like every other module.

Category and presets: Start from a category, then browse or save Instrument EQ presets.
One-click bypass: The power button mutes the EQ instantly without losing your settings.

Amp-sim preamp

Gain, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Level replace the old single pre-gain knob, so a guitar or keyboard can be pushed and shaped before the EQ and reverb. It has its own bypass toggle too.
